A great tourist attraction found in South Australia, especially among Texans who love anything big :wink_ee:, is The Toy Factory. Not because of the great wooden toys that are sold at factory direct prices, but because it is home to the world’s biggest rocking horse. Yep, it’s even bigger than anything the Texans can come up with.

World's Biggest Rocking Horse

Because of it’s size and weight (25 tons) they had to anchor it in over 80 tons of concrete. As for the dimensions;

  • Height to the top of the head is 18.3 meters or 60′ high
  • Body length is 10.5 meters or 34′
  • It comprises of three observation platforms the highest being at the top of the head from where you get a great view.

It is actually a scale model of the rocking horses produced in the factory only in reverse being upscaled at a ratio of 20:1. You will surprised at the amount and variety of wooden toys held at this popular tourist destination. While there you should also visit the seven-acre animal park where, among other things, you can hand feed the wallabies. Talking about food, you could also utilize the picnic area or dine in at the fully licensed cafe.

Where to find it? Just head for the Hills, the Adelaide Hills that is, only 45 mins from the City in the beautiful leafy town of Gumeracha.
