This is a shot of Jesus on the cross being supported by St. Francis Of Assisi, or so I presume as the church where it is located is the St Francis of Assisi Church at Newton. This is the very church where Festa di Madonna Di Montevergine is held every year. The words “By Arthur Comelli 1-7-1953″ is engraved in the base of the statue so I assume that is the name of the sculptor.

I like this photo because it shows a closeness between the two characters.

    All that carpentry work really gave Jesus some serious arms :lol_ee:

    We actually have a sculpture garden in town but I don’t think any of the works there convey the type of connection like you described and is seen in the picture.

    It is a really nice sculpture, one that I think the sculptor put a lot of emotion into. As for his arms, I reckon he’s probably so ripped due to the food eaten as well as the work he did. Not much junk food in those days I reckon.
