This church is probably the first church that I came into contact with as it was in this church that I was baptized. The Sacred Heart Catholic Church can be found at 252 Grange Rd, Hindmarsh and it is really quite an impressive building.

Baptisms and wedding bookings are by appointment only and you can get in touch with them by using one of the following.

  • Tel. 8346 3901
  • Fax 9340 2198
  • Email fphparish@stjohind.adl.catholic.edu.au
  • Postal address PO Box 9, Hindmarsh 5007
  • They also offer the following services.

  • Church services
  • Italian church services
  • Baptisms
  • Confirmations
  • Weddings
  • Funerals
  • Social functions for the Italian community
  • Assistance for refugee families
  • Support for St Vincent de Paul Society
  • Public hire of the parish hall
  • Mass times on Sunday are at 9am, 11am for the Italian Mass and 7pm for the Charismatics

Make my day and shout me a beer.

Cool, I bet it’s equally impressive on the inside!

Probably, but unfortunately it was locked and I couldn’t get in. There were some lovely stained glass windows but you really need to have the light shining through to get the right effect.
