This rather impressive building can be found at 27 Saints Rd, Salisbury Plain. A relatively new building, the St Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church’s foundation stone was blessed by ‘His Eminence The Arch Bishop Of Australia Stylianos’ on the 15th Of January 1989.

I also took a photo of one of its windows.

I thought it was pretty cool the way the reflection of the clouds gave the appearance that the Madonna and Child Jesus actually appeared amongst the clouds.

For those of you who are Interested St. Dimitrios’s feast day is on 26th October, and in case you want to get in touch with someone at the church, the number is (08) 8250 5222

Make my day and shout me a beer.

Love the look of the church, very modern looking. Our church is in the middle of building a new sanctuary, I’ll have to snap a few when it is done!

Nice catch on the window, most people wouldn’t have thought about it the way you did, including myself.

If there is one thing we have and that is an abundance of churches, of all denominations and styles. As for the window Tim, I’m sure that if you came across it you would have snapped a shot.

hey guys, this icon isint actually of the baby Jesus, its of The Virgin Mary and her Mother Anna, its still a very nice icon, and its symbolic meaning is extremely important, as for St Dimitrios, the church is by far the best in Adleiade amongst the Greek Orthodox Churches! with beautiful iconography and Byzantine style…

i have many more pictures if ud like..

Thanks for the comment Stav. I was unable to get any shots from inside the church so I can only imagine how it must look with the sunlight streaming through those beautiful windows. As for the icon, I assume that the baby is the Virgin Mary?
