I’ve had a lot of people comment on the photos I’ve used for this blog as well as my other photo blog and they are all amazed at the quality of those photos. I’ve mentioned on more than one post how much I love my Panasonic Lumix DMC FX50. They’re so surprised to hear that I’ve used a simple point and shoot camera as the quality of the photos belie the size of the camera.
I was so excited to learn there was going to be a LUMIX Life competition where Aussie Lumix photographers can be part of a special project. It’s a competition were Lumix owners can submit a photo taken with their camera as long as it’s main focus is something to do with Australia. Man, this whole blog is about Scenic Adelaide so I’m bound to find something here, and if not I’ll just take another photo.
I was also pretty exited to find that there is a Panasonic Australia on Facebook page where you can read all the comments left from people on their wall. It’s good to see that they do not remove the negative comments, not many of those, as this goes to show the integrity of the company.
the whole thing starts on April the first 2010. This gives those who haven’t any photos that focus on Australia time enough to get out there with their Lumix cameras taking as many photos as they can. What a great excuse to see more of this lovely country that we live in, taking photos of it that will bring back fond memories, not to mention that it could possibly win us a prize.
Yep, there is going to be monthly giveaways as well as a final prize at the end of the competition, but I reckon the best thing would be if my photo was displayed with those taken by the pros like Ken Duncan, Peter Eastway and Bill Bachman
The FlexSqueeze Theme gives my blog that professional look and as you can see is great for photo blogs. I loved it so much that I bought the developers license. It's the easiest most customizable theme I've come across. See how easy it is to change your theme's appearance! Compare it to Thesis to see how much better it is! I am so thrilled with this theme that I highly recommend you to get your FlexSqueeze theme today! Make my day and shout me a beer. Hey Tim, long time no see. It does sound like a pretty good competition doesn’t it. I may give it a go myself.
You should! Give it a go!
I was caught in a mosh, no wait, a mosh would have actually been refreshing. I was a slave to Mafia Wars on Facebook. But then I was like the guy on the beginning of a Queensryche song “I’ve had enough and I want out!!”.

I too am a Lumix lover. I’ve got a DMC LX2.

Just had a look at the specs on that camera Ray, and I am impressed. No wonder you love it.
Hi, This is great news! I recently got a Lumix from a yard sale back home. I am currently in australia right now. can I still join this competition? I would love to get together with pro who can teach me more about photography and using Lumix.
Lumix cameras are hot, hot, hot. They are certainly taking a chunk out of the dSLR market.
It’s definitely on my wish list. Would love to see more posts on the contest.

That may be so but I still want me a DSLR.
The Lumix cameras are fab, I use a TZ7 as my compact, and it takes some lovely shots – not to mention fab 720p video too. It slips in my pocket and so I take it out when I don’t want to be bringing my bulkier SLR with me!

Yeah it’s compactness is a definite bonus but I’m still going to get me a nice DSLR.
