I love our railway station because it has so much charm. The Adelaide Railway station originated in it’s present location of North Terrace in 1856. It’s actually a dead end as it’s the final stop or the start of the journey of most train trips depending where you’re heading. Wikipedia has a comprehensive history of this station for anyone who is interested.
This photo is actually of the rear of the station and I thought I would paste this rather than the front as it’s not the one most people would see. I may actually post one of the main entrance at a later date. What’s unique about the station is that it forms part of the Adelaide Casino, now better known as Sky City.
This next photo was taken from the inside and you can see from it a little of the rustic charm.
OK, this photo has nothing to do with the station other than it can be found on a wall just to the left of it and I couldn’t resist including it in this series as it was so full of vibrant colour.
This link will take you to Adelaide Metro’s website where you’ll find all the information you could possibly need in regards to timetables and such for buses and trains.
The FlexSqueeze Theme gives my blog that professional look and as you can see is great for photo blogs. I loved it so much that I bought the developers license. It's the easiest most customizable theme I've come across. See how easy it is to change your theme's appearance! Compare it to Thesis to see how much better it is! Hey, found your blog through the dofollow network! Upon seeing the photos of the railway station I was reminded of the station I drove by the other day in St. Thomas Ontario Canada. It was just revitalized and I vowed to go back in a weekend or 2 so that I could take some photographs. Wicked reminder!
I love the interior photo – I’m a wide angle lens fanatic! And that wood rail really leads my eye right into the heart of the image. The large clock in the distance is definitely part of that rustic charm. Really cool and love the glass ceiling.
Would love to see more images exploring the locaiton!

I’m not the best photographer Scott, but that doesn’t stop me from having a go mate.
That’s not a glass ceiling mind you, and yes the clock does add a modicum of charm to the shot, as does the polished timber of the old bench.
Really amazing three pictures that you have and i am quite amazed about those pictures especially the one in the last that looks almost real and it seems that there are shops instead of wall. I am quite confident that the person who has made that master piece is truely a great artist and he needs to be given some exposure in order to bring him up…..
